STANDING ROCK-
Our class is very thankful that our classmate Mahayla, her Mom, and Grandmother shared with us about their recent journey to Standing Rock in North Dakota. Approximately 7,000 Native Americans representing 200 tribes from across the United States joined the 7 bands of Sioux to peacefully protest pipeline being put through their water source.
During their presentation today, Mahayla and her family spoke about how this will effect our environment, as well as what it means to their culture.
