We continue our behavior study of betta fish today by observing mate choice. We put a female in the center of the tank with 2 males on either side. We then recorded the length of time she spent with each male as well as how many visits she made to them. We also recorded fin flashings, gill openings, and coloration changes made by the fish. After looking at the data, we concluded which male she seemed to like the best.
